November 2014 Playlist

I know I know, still playing catchup, but there were a lot of powerful songs in November that I couldn't resist sharing.  Enjoy

1. Animus Vox- Glitch Mob: What better way to start a playlist than with some Glitch Mob.  Genius, pure genius in sound J   Always motivating.

2. One and Only-Adele: This is one of the songs that made me fall in love with Adele.  This song always spoke to me, because I know I have been in this position before…. it is still a powerful song even if that situation is long since passed.

3. Stereo Hearts-Gym Class Heroes feat Adam Levine: This song is too hard not to love!  I love both of these amazing singers.  The analogies are genius J

4. Chasing the Sun-Sara Bareilles: Sara always has vivid lyrics.  A picture is painted for you, with her soulful voice.  This voice is a definite story.  “capture the feeling that my earth is somebody’s ceiling”

5. Let It Go-Frozen/Idina Menzel: I only include this song for my son who is still obsessed with this song, and refuses to refer to the movie as Frozen, instead insisting that it is called “Let It Go”

6. 4 am-Melanie Fiona: This is probably why I have been a hermit for about 2 years now.  Went through this with the last person and I will never be put in that position again.  Yes I am damaged goods, I know.  Listening to this song, I can totally feel her pain.
7. You & I-John Legend: One of my favorite John Legend songs.

8. The Worst-Jhene Aiko: Although it is slightly repetitive, I always liked this song and Jhene’s voice.

9. Cold-Crossfade: Another spectacular song from the Punisher soundtrack.  Always ready to rock out with this song :)

10. Where The Lines Overlap-Paramore:  I don’t know any Paramore songs that I don’t love, but this is another great one to add to the list.  Great lyrics as always: “too much distance, to measure it out loud”

11. We Never Change-Coldplay: Coldplay is always great music to lose yourself into.

12. Tell Me-Groove Theory: Had to throw some mid-90s music into the middle of my playlist since the 90s were so awesome and this is a great song.

13. Anytime-Brian McKnight: Such a classic R&B song, and all that there was to love in R&B music growing up.  Always nice to through in a reminiscent song.

14. Please Send Me Someone to Love-Sade: There are no bad Sade songs.  All of her music is fantastic.  But this song is definitely true for me.  I am definitely always open to the right person to come into my life for me to love.

15. Been a Long Day-Rosi Golan: I find myself relating to this song :)

16. Take Over Control (Extended)-Afrojack feat Eva Simons: It’s always nice to have some fun catchy music in a playlist :)

17. Give Me Everything-Pitbull feat Ne-Yo and Naya: I love love love this song :)

18. Be Your Girl-Teedra Moses: Great song also

19. Chasing the Sun (Hardwell Remix)-The Wanted: Always great to spice up a popular song with a good remix.  Haha I just realized I have two songs on this playlist called Chasing the Sun…

20. Lose My Breath-Destiny’s Child: Oh the Memories, and I also loved the preppy versus hood Destiny’s Child dance fight in the video.

21. Relentless-Blackmill: Had to have Blackmill grace my playlist with their iconic flowing beats :)

22. Heist-Lindsey Sterling: This song always makes me picture a high-speed chase, maybe even on the open seas, or else a car chase on windy roads for some reason.  Great driving, cleaning or dancing around the house song.

23. Wonder Woman-Trey Songz: I always liked this song, but I definitely prefer Trey with the clean cut

24. Hold It Against Me-Britney Spears: No reason needed…  It’s Britney B*tch :)

25. Shake It Out-Florence and the Machine: A Great rejuvenating, upbeat move on with your life song :)

26. What Do You Want From Me-Cascada: I love to work out to Cascada, plus the lyrics are great.  Get that out in the open, no playing around.

27. Don’t Wake Me Up-Chris Brown: It’s fun, it’s catchy, it’s true

28. E.T.-Katy Perry feat Kanye West: I always felt that this song was fitting for me.  That the man I am meant to be with is obviously not the norm for this world.  I guess I need an alien ;)

29. Edge of Desire (Acoustic)-John Mayer: I don’t understand how anyone can NOT like John Mayer..  He just speaks to my very soul…  It’s like he sings to my whole being with all of his lyrics and his guitar and there is no one else in the world. I always dance around my house to this song, envisioning someone there with me.

30. Fearless-Colbie Caillat: Oh how I love Colbie.  This song speaks volumes.  It gives me strength in heart and reminds me that it’s ok to say goodbye and go on stronger and better from any situation.

Many songs contributed to an amazing birth month for me!  Here are 30 of them, one for each day of April to give you a little insight into what music impacted me this past month.

1. Let Her Go-Passenger:  This song always makes me chuckle to myself by the truth in the chorus "You only miss the sun when it starts to snow.....  Only know you've been high when you're feeling low,  Only hate the road when you're missing home"

2. Morning After Dark-Timbaland feat Nelly Furtado & SoShy:  This song always makes me jam out in my car, and I love Nelly so much!  It's just fun.

3. All For Love-Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Sting: 3 great amazing voices, and such a great song that expresses so much love and also from the great Three Musketeers....

4. Find Me A Man-Toni Braxton:  I love love love the lyrics in this song.  Great qualities to look for, and very fitting for my single 30th birthday that came to pass.

5. Break It Off-Rihanna feat Sean Paul: Such a great combination and I love this song, makes me want to get up and dance.  It has definitely followed me through the years.

6. Break Stuff-Limp Bizkit:  Haha well let's just say that I had reason for a bit of angst this past month and this song was VERY fitting.  Such a great angry jam.

11. Sleepless-Kate Havenik: This song is great.  I love the lyrics, Kate's voice and the tempo of the song.

14. A Thousand Years Part 2-Christina Perry feat Steve Kazee: Part 2 is so much better than the original.  I love this song every time I get it, I want to slow dance or ballet across my living room floor while belting out the words. (Yes I am aware that I have issues haha)

15. All I Wanted-Paramore: Oh how I love Paramore and Haley's voice.  They usually rock out harder but I love their slow songs, such as this one and the lyrics are pretty great as well

16. Never Let Me Go-Florence & the Machine: FATM is seriously one of the greatest of all times.  Every single song I hear makes me take a pause in life to just stop and listen for a moment and revel in the vibes that are put forth by the lyrics and the vocals and the instrumentals...

17. Someone to Love You-Ruff Endz: Such a wonderful song and great throwback.  Whenever I hear this song I definitely think of myself.

18. Yo Side of the Bed-Trey Songz: I love this song, but the music video really sealed the deal for me with his wife deploying and being without her while she is gone.  I have seen this video dozens of times and it still makes me cry EVERY time that I watch it...  needless to say I try to never watch it around other people.  It is such such a powerful message.

19. Sweet Dreams-Beyonce': This has to be my favorite newer Beyonce' song.  It has such a powerful beat and presence that you can just feel whenever you hear it.

23. Happy-Pharrell Williams: Liam and I spend extensive amounts of time dancing around the house to this song when we are having a wonderful day!  Whenever he wants to listen to it he tells me "Mom I want to listen to Despicable me" haha

24. She Wolf-Shakira: I know that I already have a Shakira song on here, but she was impacting me a lot this month and I jammed to this song many times this month!  It always make me feel empowered and happy and I probably look like a crazy woman if you see me in my car when this song is on!

25. Only Girl In The World-Rihanna: Again this is another artist I have already featured but it's from a different time in her career and I love this song!

March's Playlist

Here are 31 songs, for the 31 days of March that stood out to me or came to mind throughout the month.  Instead of uploading a crap ton of videos to my blog and slowing down everything on my page, I have decided to create a playlist on my YouTube account and share the playlist so that you can watch it from start to finish.  As I like to go through and say something about each song I will instead write a track list and what made the song special for this month!  Enjoy!

1. Single-Natasha Bedingfield: I would say that the title speaks for itself but this song has been with me throughout many different times in my life.  To give me strength and hope in my single status.  The lyrics are the greatest as well.  Not snubbing love, but still able to find happiness in yourself.

2. Don't Panic-Coldplay:  I love this song.  Coldplay really fits into a great soundtrack of my life.  This song helps you to try to remember that everything is small stuff and the little things that matter, those are the BIG things.  And that "We live in a beautiful world"

3. I Don't Wanna-Aaliyah:  There is never a time that an Aaliyah song come on to this day that doesn't make me stop and pay attention.  This is one of my favs by here and when it came across my station, gave me a blast to the past in my mind.

4. Evacuee-Enya: Liam's bedtime Pandora station has always been Enya.  It helps to calm him down before going to bed.  My mother always listened to Enya a lot, and I can never hear Enya without thinking of her.  Plus it's beautiful Irish music :)

5. Already Taken-Trey Songz:  I do love Trey, especially older more mature in music Trey.  This song is so catchy and makes you want to get up and dance.  It is effective in making me feel like someday I can find a man that can be proud to be with me and not want to be with anyone else.

6. Home-Michael Buble':  I don't know how anyone could hear this song and not just love the slow music and Micheal's voice and the lyrics.  I have said it before and I will continue to say it.  I want someone to love me like Michael Buble' songs.  This one is one of his greatest.

7. Slow Dancing In A Burning Room-John Mayer: I have heard many people say that all John Mayer songs sound the same.  I guess that I always heard them differently.  I feel the emotion behind them.  I feel like he really puts his soul out there.  You can feel his pain, his joy, his desperation, his anger, his love, depending on the song.  This one definitely holds some of that desperation to hold on to something even after it is broken beyond repair.

 8. Breathe In-Frou Frou I just love Frou Frou.  I think that they are highly under-rated but luckily frequently used in movie to still showcase their awesomeness.  They always make me feel empowered as well.

9. Everything Zen-Bush: This is a great song for having a bad day to try to let it all out.

10.  Without Your Love-Ellie Goulding: I love Ellie, and this song is great!  To remind you that you can go forward on your own, and you don't need someone to go on with your life.

11. Enough of No Love-Keyshia Cole: I LOVE Keyshia's shoes in this video, but this song has always stuck with me and getting rid of something that no longer serves your best interest.

12. Need You Tonight-Amerie:  I love Amerie, and this song has some good older beats.

13. Say It Ain't So-Wheezer: This song is just straight awesomeness.

14. Iris-Goo Goo Dolls: This song will always be one that I love.  The vocals, the isntruments, the lyrics...  Just a winning combination...

15.  Dangerous-Cascada: I love Cascada and this song is very poetic.

16.  Kiss From A Rose-Seal: No need for an explanation

17. Om Hraum Mitraya-Deva Premal: Meditative song of excellence

18.  Your Love Is King-Sade:  One of my all-time favorite singers and my gateway into Jazz.  And this song is just great!

19.  Everything I Do (I Do It For You)-Bryan Adams:  I grew up with this and it will always be one of my favorite love songs.  Plus it was on Robin Hood with Kevin Costner which was great!

20.  Big Girls Don't Cry-Fergie: This song will always remind me of California, and when you are having a bad day and everything feels like it is falling apart it is great to listen to this.

21. Shake Senora-Pitbull: I seriously love Pitbull's energy in his music!  This song always makes me want to get up and dance.

22. You Got Me-Colbie Calliat: I LOVE this song, it makes me want to meet someone and be in love again.  It gives me hope for the romantic future.  I want someone to make me feel this way.

23.  You & I-John Legend:  This is another great love song, and John is good at love ballads.  I love the lyrics

24.  Another Round (Remix)-Fat Joe: This song is a good newer hip hop song that I always enjoy to hear.  I love the original and the remix, but you get Mary J and Fabo on the remix

25.  Talk That Talk-Rihanna: I will always love Rihanna, she always makes you feel more powerful as a woman.  This song always makes me want to get up and do something

26.  Just A Kiss-Lady Antebellum: I know I know, country but I love this song. It has a really great message about not overdoing things and letting things unfold slowly and naturally in a relationship.  There is no need to rush things.

27.  Juicy-BIG: Because it's Biggie that's why

28.  Spectrum-Florence & The Machine:  I can't have a playlist without Florence.  This song (like all of their songs) is just so powerful.  I always have to crank it!  "Say My Name, and Every Part of Me Illuminates"  You don't just come across lyrics like those

29. Hot Boyz-Missy: Oh the flashbacks, such a great song

30. New Slang-Shins:  You just want to go on a long drive and contemplate life when you hear this song.

31. Eddie Vedder-Society: Excellent song....  great poetic lyrics and great message about our society.

February's Playlist

Here are the songs that stuck with me or somehow affected me this month!  Enjoy!  :)  I am always open to new song suggestions, as you will notice I don't listen to a lot of newer music haha.

This song always makes me want to revisit Devil Wears Prada & 13 Going on 30

Secondhand Serenade rocks at life...  "I was born to tell you I love you"

I love the Cardigans, I love this song, what more needs to be said haha

Liam and I like to watch and listen to this song on repeat over and over again.  We watch the extra features on Rio more than we watch the movie anymore.  I absolutely LOVE this song.  It is so heartfelt!

John Legend's song was already awesome, but when you add Lindsey it's the epitome of an epic song that will last

I wish that there were more fuel songs, I loved them all. I have had a lot of random bad days this month and somehow listening to this song makes me feel better and smile to myself thinking of the things that make it a bad day.

Breakign Benjamin always has some great instrumentals going on, and this is a good song :)

I don't think Pandora lets me go an entire week without this song, and they always give me this amazing acoustic version that I love! I always have to stop whatever I am doing and crank it up and sing a long with it! This song has such painful lyrics and yet it is beautiful in it's pain. I love Sara!

This is another song that you just have to stop and sing along with! It makes you want to sing, I love Ellie! She has so many songs that just speak to my soul!

This song has such an eerie soulful tone, you instantly recognize it and the vampire franchise seems to love it.

This song always makes me feel like an epic battle is about to go down. I love it!

I have found myself listening to a lot of Stone Sour songs lately but I always loved this one.

This song is and always will be my all-time favorite Weezer song! It just makes you happy to listen to it!

This is another one of those songs that is even more amazing in acoustics. I LOVE the lyrics to this song.

John Mayer is so talented, I love this song. I always have a hard time matching his voice and his face, he just doesn't look like he would have such a soothing and gentle voice haha.

This is seriously one of my single anthems for hope in love

I love pre-country Jewel! And this song

Liam and I love jamming out to this song that is also featured in Despicable Me 2! And it makes you happy :)

Oh Coldplay I love you and this song too.... Must be the month of love haha

My month wouldn't be complete with out a song from FATM to grace my playlist

Oh yes Mandy Moore, Center Stage & Sascha Redetsky.... I am in heaven....

I am seriously jamming while making this playlist and I love this song

That's right Mya! Girl power!

Seether & Amy lee seriously made one of the greatest collaborations EVER in this song

When I was younger my mom used to constantly listen to Sarah, As I got older I really listened to her lyrics and realized that she had a ton of sexual lyrics but she described love in a way that wasn't often approached and I love her now too! This song is great as well

Last but certainly not least is J Lo's Play! This was definitely me when I went out. I always wanted the DJ to play my song. So there you have it a song for each day of the months. Enjoy!
